I believe there are many parts of the film that appeals to our audience as there is an unusual storyline for  a youth drama film. 1 part that appeals is when they see that there is no body where he thinks he can see one. This will be appealing as the audience would not have seen it coming, this part of the film would draw them in and want to know what else is going to happen. Our film would have appealed to the target audience as they will not see a film like this anywhere else.

Visions Title Sequence

Our final editing lesson feedback

As we finished out title sequence early we got Marisa to watch over out title sequence and she gave us some feedback to make our title sequence better to gain more marks. We will complete her feedback to make out title sequence better and make sure its complete.

• To make sure that the titles fit within the box  
• the title of the film shouldn't be at the ending 
• pay attention to the order of the titles 
• the actors title sequences all have the same time
• Make sure we do not use the same name twice

Planning- Independent vs mainstream institution and target audience

In independent films they tend to have less titles in the title sequence. In lesson we watched beautiful thing and mean girls. Beautiful Thing being the independent film had less titles in the title sequence as they have a smaller budget they tend to have a smaller cast and less backstage crew. For example they had some of the actors names the producer. However, Mean Girls have more titles as it is mainstream. They have more titles such as more cast and more back stage crew due to the larger budget that they have which allows them to have more of a bigger crew and more cast to make the film better.

When Beautiful Thing was released they had an opening weekend box office figures of $33,931. It was also released worldwide through a film festival rather than in cinemas.

When Mean Girls was released on the opening weekend they had a box office figure of $24,432,195. Unlike Beautiful Thing, Mean Girls was released world wide in cinemas as it is a mainstream film.

I have researched a few of the target audiences for different films to find out what age range of people watch these movies.

Different teen films have different target audiences as they wish that the target audience that they are aiming for will keep this movie as their favourite teen film.

Our last ending session

In this session we are planning to add the final title that needs to be added we are also planning on adding in the sound which we are going to create and we also going to re-add in the voice over to make our title sequence complete. 

Our third editing session

During our third editing session we intend to finish off the titles and finish off the editing that needs to be done. We had some feedback from Marisa who advised us to change the indents as they both looked the same.

Our second filming session that we completed was very successful as we managed to refilm all the parts that needed to be refilmed, and make it better due to the better weather that we had and our group being more dedicated to complete all the filming that had to be done so we didn't have to go back out into the cold.

Pace:
She told us that the pace of our title sequence was too slow and made it seem like it was dragging on. However, we will increase the pace of this by adding the titles in and adding the voice over, making it more interesting and easier for the audience to understand what is happening.
Match cut on point:
Marisa also told us that or match cuts that we included in our title sequence are on point and they match completely making it continuous and not jumpy.
Long gaps:
Marisa said that the gaps that we have in the rough cuts are too long. However when we add in the titles the gaps will be shorted they are just there for us to remember where we are going to add the titles in. We will add our titles on to a black screen but we will also add a few of the title on to the moving image.
Out of focus on the book:
The clip where we have the main character writing in the book is out of focus. To resolve this we plan on re-filming this part of the title sequence to improve the quality.
Get rid of the long tracking and change them for short cuts.
Marisa told us that we shouldn't use the long tracking shot as it is not steady and it is too long, we will change this by using the short clips that we filmed of the classroom scene making it better quality.


To improve our title sequence we will take up the feedback that Marisa gave us. We will also add in some titles and fix the fades in to the title sequence to make it better.
