Research- 4 types of film opening

1) Titles on a blank screen
They are low budget, they offer simple, uncomplicated way to include institutional information at the beginging of the film.
Psyhco- it was boring and did not really catch my attention to watch it all.
2) Titles  on still image
They are more elaborate, they use the visual image to hint a tone or genre for the film. They are making the title sequences longer so they can incorporate more than just the name of the studio and the film maker. It also requires different types of media.
Wimbledon was more interesting than the first one, it gave me more of an idea of what is happening in the rest of the film.
3) Titles over Moving Images
This incorporates the credits while using moving images behind the titles there is usually no dialogue. Using this type of film opening it gives off a narative thread to help introduce the tone or the storyline to the audience.
Rear Windows- I found this one very dull as not much was happening
Th sixties was more intersting however, it was too long and got a little boring.
4) Titles using Animation or Motion
This form of opening was more popular in 1990's, the titles came part of the moving images. This catagory of the title sequence requires a lot more digita technology than the other 3.
Casino Royal- It was interesting and very intreging about what was actually happening.
Catch me if you can- I thought that this was an intersting title sequence as it gave me an idea about what what happening in the film, it was also very annimated.
